Nikon Camera Reviews
Introduction
While taking a picture, many individuals simply consider their camera’s shutter
speed, aperture, and ISO settings.
Yet capturing a photo that is properly exposed is only one part of the process;
another important consideration is how the photo will be processed.
Videographers and still photographers
who shoot in JPEG frequently assume the file right out of the camera to be very
well finished, in contrast to those who shoot in RAW (Nikon NEF), who plan on modifying
the file after the fact on a computer.
For these kinds of shooters, the picture control they choose can significantly
affect the result.
Consider the advantages of utilizing Picture Controls directly in-camera even
if you shoot in RAW and intend to edit your photo later.
Even RAW photographers can profit from Picture Controls. To begin with, Picture Controls are
pre-set profiles created to maximize aspects like contrast, clarity, brightness,
and saturation for various settings. Selecting the proper Picture Control is important for JPEG or video shooters in particular because these settings will be “baked” into the file after
the picture is taken.
Nikon Camera
Current Nikon DSLRs have the following built-in preset Picture Controls: Standard,
Neutral, Vivid, Monochrome, Portrait, Landscape, and Flat.
For Nikon’s mirrorless Z series cameras, you receive all of them in addition
to an additional group of 20 Creative Picture Controls. Suppose you really enjoy the way Standard produces your images, but you still want to give them a little bit extra sharpening.
Furthermore, when you have the Image Control highlighted, you can also quickly
make changes to each of the profiles by simply clicking right on the multi-selector.
Fast Adjust, Sharpening, Clarity, Contrast, Brightness, Saturation, and Hue can
all be changed.
In addition to changing the Picture Control as a whole, you may also modify each
individual Picture Control.
